The U Color Sachet Packet System contains everything you need: Color, Developer and Equalizer in a low- or no-ammonia, pleasantly scented gel formula that is designed to dispense equally, directly from the packet onto dry hair.

Wear suitable latex gloves.  Prepare a work station keeping these instructions handy.  Have a clock ready for timing.  Protect clothing.  By its nature, hair color will stain. You may wish to use a barrier product (such as petroleum jelly) along the hairline to minimize staining of skin.

3 Easy Ways to Apply:
Bowl and Brush
Applicator Bottle
Directly from the Sachets

Just Snip, Squeeze, Smoosh!

Do not separate the three sachets.  Fold the Sachet Packet System at the perforations.  Fold the Color packet over the Developer packet.  Then, fold the Equalizer packet over the Color Packet.  When folded properly, the numbered circles on the top of each packet will appear in numerical order (1, 2, 3).  Color should be sandwiched between Equalizer and Developer.

SNIP: Double check to ensure that the Sachet Packet System is folded properly: the scissor icon on the front of the Equalizer packet should line up with the scissor icon on the Color packet.  Make sure all 3 packets are even at the top.  Now, using real scissors, keeping the packets folded, cut along the dotted line using care to ensure an even cutline.

SQUEEZE: With the Sachet Packet System still folded, slowly and gently squeeze the contents directly onto dry hair, one area at a time.  The folded packets must be squeezed evenly so that the Color, Developer and Equalizer gels dispense equally.

You may use a plastic bottle or bowl if you prefer.  To use a bowl and brush, pour contents of all three sachets into a bowl and stir for 10 seconds.  Using the enclosed brush, apply from roots to ends.  To use an applicator bottle, pour contents of all three sachets into an applicator bottle, screw on applicator, shake well and apply.

SMOOSH:  As you dispense the gel contents of the packets, 'smoosh' or massage into hair to blend Color, Developer and Equalizer together, making sure the gel is evenly distributed and the hair is thoroughly saturated.  Leave on for 25 minutes.  Rinse well.  Shampoo, condition and style as usual.

TIP:  Best color is achieved when the gel formula is worked thoroughly into hair.  Starting at the roots, gently mimic a shampooing action to blend the Color, Developer and Equalizer, saturating the hair, moving from roots to ends.  Don't worry about overlapping color, the magic Equalizer automatically balances color absorption from roots to ends for beautiful, even color.

HAIR COLORANTS CAN CAUSE ALLERGIC REACTIONS WHICH IN RARE CASES CAN BE SERIOUS.  FOLLOWING THESE PRECAUTIONS CAN HELP MINIMIZE THE RISK OF REACTIONS.

BEFORE YOU COLOR: 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE TAKE THE SKIN ALLERGY TEST AND DO THE STRAND TEST.

SKIN ALLERGY TEST:
Test 48 hours before each use, even if you have used the hair color before.  Wash and pat dry an area about the size of a quarter on the inside of your elbow as a test area.  Fold the three sachet packets and cut along the dotted line (as described in DIRECTIONS FOR USE).  Squeeze out a small, equal amount of Color, Developer and Equalizer onto the inside of your clean elbow.  Leave it untouched and undisturbed for 48 hours.  Complete the Strand Test (below).  Reseal the opened sachets by taping closed.  Open sachets should be used within 48 hours.  If redness, burning, itching or other irritation occurs, you might be allergic and should not use this product.

STRAND TEST:
Snip a ¼ inch wide section of hair.  Secure the cut ends of the hair together with a piece of tape or rubber band.  As done for the Skin Allergy Test, squeeze out a small equal amount of Color, Developer and Equalizer directly onto the hair swatch, saturating the hair.  Wait 25 minutes, rinse and dry strand to preview color.  It's a good idea to repeat the strand test each time you color, to confirm timing and color results.

IN CASE OF REACTION WHILE COLORING:
If you experience stinging or burning and/or rash, rinse immediately and discontinue use as this may be an indication of a more serious reaction.  If you experience difficulty breathing, dizziness, feeing faint, hives or swelling on the body, discontinue use and obtain medical assistance immediately.
